I don't know what it is, really. We helped some friends to repaint a room in their house, and between painting and chatting, someone took this picture, and since then, I have been looking at it, and I still try to understand what is it that makes it so compelling ( to me )
In short: I like it, but I don't know why....
Any help out there ?

Tante cose attirano l'attenzione in questa bella foto: il colore smeraldo, le geometrie della scala, e quei tre oggetti casaulmente (?) abbandonati: pennello, straccio e bicchiere.
Sembra costruita questa foto! Hai ragione più la si guarda più si resta affascinati. Sarà il fascino della casaulità, forse...ciao!

No, la foto e' stata assolutamente causale. Posizione della scala, bicchiere, straccio, pennello ... qulacuno e' sceso dalla scala, mia figlia ha visto ( occhio da fotografa ) l' opportunita' ed ha scattato. Dopo di che si e' rimessa a pitturare ;-)
I find it compelling too - sometimes the most simple scenes are the most compelling. I've taken some too that I just love and not sure why, there's nothing very special about them. Life imitating art, I suppose.
